Hiring a Development Director

A director of development or development director, serves as the senior fundraising officer of a non-profit, responsible for bringing in diverse revenue streams. The director of development works closely with an organization’s executive team, primarily the CEO/executive director and chief financial officer. While the Director of Development works with the Executive Director to cultivate and steward donors and prospects, they must also take care to work closely with the CFO to manage funding and commitments related to awarded grants and other gifts.
